My daughter

All of my children have gone through this phase, I am not sure what to call it besides the "you-are-SO-lucky-your-mother-is-going-to-let-you-live-another-day! Spencer, I can not take anymore of this!!" phase.

It starts the day before or of their 3rd birthday, leaving me wondering why I am even putting any effort into celebrating another year with this spawn I have helped create!  (harsh, I know)

In retrospect, I know I am going to survive, as are they, because the boys are still here!  And they are both loving, good boys.

Caitlyn, my dear sweet Caitlyn!  At birth, you were my smallest baby weighing a tiny 6 lbs 12 ozs.  Just a teeny bundle of beautiful pink!  You were timid and afraid of all the noise your brothers would make around the house.  You would stay with me everywhere we went.

Now, and I think it comes from being born behind 2 rambunctious, active brothers, you are mean!  I realize that you are the youngest and have a need to stand up for yourself, but you are vicious!

Today, at the library, of which we were at because I am a wonderful mother and was signing my children up for story time, my daughter starts to yell that "You shouldn't hit little girls!"
She kept it up all the way across the covered parking garage, over and over again.  I had not even looked  at her cross-eyed, much less spanked her!  People were staring and I was definately not being paranoid.  I am so lucky not to be locked up in the local poke!

Tonight, Caitlyn got a spanking because she was not listening and would not come to dinner. Spencer popped her on the butt.
She looked and him and said, "You spanked me!"
Spencer, "Yes, I did."
"You hurt me!!"
"Probably."
"You are mean and you like to hurt little girls!!"

I am now at a loss for words, I do not know what else I can say or do.

Oh, Caitlyn, what are you doing to your parents?! You do make me laugh, though! :)

Oh my. I am so sorry. I think most parents understand the crazy stuff kids holler out though. Kevin will say "no hitting the Kevin" when I swat his hand away from something he shouldn't touch. Makes me feel bad.

I could have sworn I made a comment about this. Or maybe I just thought it in my head after I read this. This makes me laugh so much!! I love kids and things they say.
